Men's Rugby Cleans Up Conference Honors
After an undefeated start to the 15s season that ended with a Rugby East Conference title this fall, the Army West Point men's rugby team racked up multiple league accolades.
The Black Knights led Rugby East with nine All-Conference selections, including six on the First XV, which also led the league. Paul Adams was also named Forward of the Year.
"We're very proud of these players for earning this well-deserved recognition for their effort and performance this past season," said head coach Matt Sherman. "All of the recipients would be quick to recognize the invaluable role that all of their teammates played in creating an environment that pushed them to become better every day, and to share this recognition and praise with them."
Adams was named Forward of the Year after pacing the Black Knights at the No. 1 position. He also scored two tries during the fall campaign.
Along with Adams, Matthew Meehan, Marco Carrabotta, Rob Niscior, Sam Sutera, and James Mbony were also selected for the first team.
Mbony led the Cadets with 55 points during the fall, while Meehan was tied for fourth on the team in tries (4) and total points (20). Carrabotta started every game this fall and scored three tries on the year, including a score in the Black Knights' 31-0 over then No. 5 Penn State.
