Giachin Tabbed Google Cloud Academic All-America qArmy West Point Baseball saw Anthony Giachin tabbed to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Second Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Giachin closed out an impressive sophomore campaign in which he finished second on the team with a .316 batting average. The Livingston, N.J., native led the Patriot League with 67 runs batted in, while coming in second in runs (50), hits (74) and sacrifice fly balls (6).

The Mechanical Engineering major currently holds a 4.04 cumulative GPA and was one of just three yearlings named to the first or second team. He has achieved over a 4.0 GPA during two of his three semesters, while earning four-straight Dean's List acknowledgments. He was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District and Academic All-Patriot League Team as well. The infielder finished with 25 multiple-hit games which tied Clint Moore '09 for a program record. Giachin also set a single-season program record with 25 doubles. He was one of 34 athletes nationwide to be named to the team, and one of two from the Patriot League. The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Baseball Teams feature 15 members with a 4.0 GPA or higher and 26 members with at least a 3.90 GPA as either undergraduate or graduate student-athletes.
