The Army West Point Hockey Team was a recipient of the NCAA Public Recognition Award on Thursday.
The award is bestowed on teams with an NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports based on the APR data released in May 2019.
"This is great recognition by the NCAA for our Program," said head coach Brian Riley. "I'm extremely proud of our players for their effort both on the ice and in the classroom."
The hockey team is one of three squads to receive this recognition for the 2018-19 year. Army's golf and men's tennis teams were also recognized. The list of all teams receiving the honor may be found on NCAA.org.
The Black Knights begin their 2019-20 season at home on Oct. 6 when they host Union at 4:05 p.m.
