Fellow graduates and WPSMI members:
 
Happy New Year!  Hope that your new year is off to a great start and you had a wonderful holiday.  Even with the on-going pandemic, I hope that this picture brings you some joy!
 
I can't tell you how excited I was to meet with our Navy colleagues and return the pickle barrel and football to its rightful home! I look forward to keeping these gems for the next few years and proudly displaying them at our next get-together.

Below are those that have not paid their dues in 2021.  Please either pay at the following link  2021 Dues or send a check to Tom Lynch,  2640 Alveston Drive, Bloomfield Hill, 48304.  Reminder that dues are $30 and not $25 for the last couple of years.  Thanks.
 
There are a few things I'd like to report on: 
 
1.  Founder's Day 2021 - Regrettably, due to the COVID-19 situation, we had to again postpone the scheduled March 2021 event to March 2022.  We would like to hear from you about your thoughts on alternate events for Founder's Day, so please fill out this short survey.  Click here:  SURVEY
Based on the results, we'd be happy to plan a less formal football game get-together in the Fall.  Stay tuned for more information.
 
2.  Benny Havens Hour - Many of you have participated in our virtual Benny Havens happy hours. I'm pleased to let you know that our next Benny Havens will be held on Thursday, February 4 at 6:00 pm ET.  Please come and join other society members as we continue to share our memories of West Point and get to know each other.
 
3.  WPSMI "Luncheon"  - Please join us for a WPSMI virtual presentation on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 7:00 pm ET.  Our guest speaker is Pete Kilner, USMA '90.  Pete is currently the Professor of Character Development, Military Ethics at West Point.  The topic will be the recent cheating scandal and the future of the Honor Code.  There will be plenty of opportunities for discussions and questions and answers.  Please RSVP to Bob Perkins at bobperkins@comcast.net if you plan to attend.

4. WPSMI Dinner at the Whitney - we are looking at another 5-course wine tasting dinner at the famous Whitney Hotel in Detroit for the fall.  We sold out the last 2 events and hopefully, the China virus will be under control by then.  Stay tuned.
 
4.   Board slots - Every year, based on our by-laws, we have a need to fill slots on the Board of Directors of the WPSMI as directors hit their tenure.  We would love to see new faces and urge anyone to volunteer to join the Board and help carry on the torch of the Board's leadership.  Positions are typically 3-year assignments and are very rewarding.  Please contact me directly if you would like more information.
