Cadets in HI101 The Army of the Republic: Leading Citizen Soldiers visited sites of the 1777 Saratoga Campaign during the American War for Independence. Cadets visited Ft. Ticonderoga and Saratoga National Historical Park to see the battlefield’s terrain firsthand. Cadets analyzed the strategic, operational, and tactical level decisions of the campaign to see how the Americans won a decisive victory that became the turning point in the War for Independence.
