SOSH Hosts the most recent U.S. Ambassador to Russia John J. Sullivan

SOSH had the pleasure of hosting the most recent U.S. Ambassador to Russia, John J. Sullivan, for a visit on November 16. Over 180 cadets attended his guest lecture on “Crisis and Change in Europe,” hosted by the International Affairs Forum (IAF). While at West Point, Ambassador Sullivan spoke with SOSH faculty, as well as cadets in the Grand Strategy program, about his time leading Embassy Moscow. A passionate hockey fan, Ambassador Sullivan also took time to meet with the West Point team to share stories about his efforts at “hockey diplomacy” and the role that sports can play in transcending national boundaries.

In November, the West Point Finance Club welcomed the Yale School of Management's Professor Jeffrey A. Sonnenfeld for an evening guest lecture. Professor Sonnenfeld detailed his efforts to rally American industry against the Russian war effort and the challenges of coordinating between public and private sector leadership. In addition, Professor Sonnenfeld delivered a moving eulogy of the late Sec
