West Point Men’s and Women’s Team Handball Win National Championship
Both the Army West Point men’s team handball and Army West Point women’s team handball are national champions. The Army West Point Men’s team handball (West Point Black team) West Point Black retained their championship title, defeating UNC 34-29 to secure its 15th consecutive College National Championship. The team went 5-0 in the tournament of 10 teams and defeated Ohio State in the championship game, 31-30. The team finished with a +75 goal differential for the tournament.
Army West Point women’s team handball competed in Collegiate Nationals April 8-10 at the University of North Carolina. To make the finals, the West Point Black (first) beat Ohio State (fourth), and West Point Gold (second) defeated UNC (third) in the semifinals. Then in the finals, West Point Black defeated West Point Gold, 16-15, to win the national championship.
