After scoring the overtime game-winning goal with 1.7 seconds remaining on Saturday night, Dalton MacAfee of the Army West Point hockey team was named the Atlantic Hockey Defender of the Week. With under ten seconds remaining in the extra frame, Dominic Franco fought the puck off the boards to Zach Evancho behind the Mercychurst net. Evancho fired the puck into the slot and found Dalton MacAfee who buried a snap shot home for the game winner with 1.7 seconds remaining in overtime. MacAfee netted just the second game-winner in his career and finished the night with a goal and an assist for his 10th multi-point game this year alone and 15th in his career. MacAfee boasts five scores in 2018-19 and 23 helpers to lead the Black Knights with 28 points. The firstie captain garnered six blocks and finished with a +3 rating.
Army takes on Sacred Heart next weekend in a home-and-home series. Friday's game will be in Bridgeport, Conn., while Saturday's is at Tate Rink.
