The Army West Point baseball team got back in the win column after it completed a midweek doubleheader sweep of Longwood here Thursday.
The Black Knights outscored their host 22-5 on the day following victories of 12-2 and 10-3.
Josh White finished an impressive 3-for-4 in the twin bill with three RBI, three runs and four walks. Six other cadets tallied multiple hits in the games, including a team-best four hits from Andre Walden and Drake Titus. Reeling in a team-high four RBI was John McKenna, while Jacob Hurtubise accounted for five of Army's final 22 runs.
Army's pitching was solid throughout the day as well. Firstie Tyler Giovinco earned his second win of the year after going 6.0 innings, allowing just two runs, one earned, on seven hits in Game 1. Sam Messina notched the win in the nightcap following his 4.1 innings of work. The Phoenix, Ariz., native only gave up three runs, one earned, on two hits during his time on the hill.
