Six Cadets Earn All-Patriot League Recognition
The Army West Point Women's Swimming and Diving Team received six postseason all-league honors after finishing second at last week's Patriot League Championships. "We are very proud of our All-Patriot League team selections," head coach Mickey Wender said. "It was a highly-contested competitive meet. All 10 schools have improved immensely. To have multiple cadets recognized on the all-league team is a great accomplishment."
Individuals who win events at the Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships automatically qualify for the All-League first team, while runner-up finishers are guaranteed a second-team spot. Both teams are back-filled by points, meaning a second-team member can move up to the first team if they accumulated enough points during the meet. Only individual points count. In her Patriot League Championships debut, Mia Rankin was the lone cadet to earn first team all-league honors. Whitney Chang, Cecelia Croman, Meaghan McGovern and Kara Wineinger each received all-league recognition for the second time in their careers. Serica Hallstead collected her third consecutive all-league accolade. Read more.
