After his outstanding performance in Army's meet at Air Force, Mathew Davis of the Army West Point Gymnastics Team was named the NCAA Gymnastics Rookie of the Week. Davis was the top all-around competitor last weekend with marks of 79.950, his second-best score of the season. The Frisco, Texas, native championed both the floor exercise and the vault. He turned out a 14.100 on floor and posted marks of 14.000 on vault to tie his career-high. Davis was third on parallel bars with a 13.400 to tie his career-best score.
The Black Knights return to the Lou Gross Center March 9 for senior day. Competition will begin at 1 p.m. against Springfield.
