Joanne Lipman, the bestselling author of That’s What She Said, and one of the nation’s leading journalists, spoke to members of the West Point Leadership Center, Corbin Leadership Forum and broader West Point Community. The title of her talk was: After #MeToo: What Next? In her talk, she provided evidence-based findings on issues such as unconscious bias, childrearing, brain differences, communication, and culture and how this knowledge enables men as well as women to join together to close the gender gap. Ms. Lipman most recently was Chief Content Officer of Gannett and Editor-in-Chief of USA Today and the USA Today Network, comprising the flagship publication plus 109 local newspapers. In that role, she oversaw more than 3,000 journalists and led the organization to three Pulitzer prizes. Ms. Lipman began her career as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, ultimately rising to deputy managing editor – the first woman to attain that post.
