Three Cadets from the West Point Model Arab League traveled to Qatar during recently on a study visit sponsored by the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations. Cadets DeMar Gale ’20, Gabrielle Milanesa ’20, Jordan Lawson ’21, and Department of Foreign Languages (DFL) Arabic Desk Chief MAJ Clay Hardwick joined cadets from the Virginia Military Institute and The Citadel to learn about U.S.-Qatar relations and gain a better understanding of the country and its role in the broader Middle East. During the trip, the cadets visited the Qatar Military Academy, the U.S. embassy, and a U.S. military unit at one of the Qatari military bases. They also visited several important civilian sites, including Education City - a bilateral effort that allows Qatari and international students the opportunity to study at several U.S. universities' branch campuses in Qatar. The trip gave the cadets insight into the military and economic ties that underpin our strong bilateral relationship.
