Army West Point Baseball saw Trey Martin named the Patriot League Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. This was Martin's second career conference weekly honor and first of the season.
He batted .500 (8-for-16) with five runs and eight RBI to help Army finish 4-1 last week, including taking two of three games from Lafayette. The senior infielder hit two home runs and drove in six to help sweep a doubleheader from Manhattan as well. The Corbin, Ky., native went 5-for-11 with two RBI and two runs scored in a three-game series with the Leopards. Martin currently leads the team and is third in the league with a .330 batting average. His 25 season RBI is second on the team as well.
Army is back in action Wednesday when it welcomes Holy Cross for a midweek conference game before it travels to Annapolis, Md., this weekend for a three-game series with Navy.
