Led by Preseason All-Patriot League selection and firstie captain Courtney Horace, the Army West Point Volleyball Team closed out the preseason with its annual team scrimmage on Saturday. With no graduating seniors last season, the experienced Black Knights enter 2019 with heightened expectations. Army was ranked fourth in the Patriot League Volleyball Preseason Poll after finishing in a third place tie in the league standings last season.
Horace, the team's two-year captain, was honored by the Patriot League as one of its seven selections for the Preseason All-League team. The Cadets are slated to open competition at home on Aug. 31 in a tournament matchup with New Hampshire as part of the Army Invitational at Gillis Field House. In addition to New Hampshire, the event will feature Iona and Rhode Island. Army will face-off with the latter two squads in a Sunday doubleheader.
