John Lesko has been elected to the Board of Directors at Toastmasters International, a Toastmaster since 1998, John is the president and head coach of JohnLesko.Biz. As a self-employed leadership coach and entrepreneur, he works with c-suite corporate officers, senior executives in the federal civil service, new admirals and generals in the armed services, and rising stars in several global non-profit organizations.
After 20 years in the U.S. Army, Lesko retired with the Legion of Merit medal. He was designated a distinguished member of the West Point society of Washington, D.C. for providing career advice to U.S. Army soldiers as they left the uniformed service and transitioning to civilian employment.
"When you first join Toastmasters, you choose a path in the educational program that fits your needs. After you've built up your confidence, you might choose to enter a speech contest or volunteer to serve as an officer in your club," he said. "The Toastmasters experience is transformational in that you'll initially be focused on self-improvement and eventually you'll broaden your outlook and influence to lead and assist other in reaching their goals."
