The Army West Point Women's Rugby team continued its hot start to the season Saturday at the Anderson Rugby Complex, as the Black Knights defeated Quinnipiac 49-0. This was the first of two contents for Army (2-0, 1-0 NIRA) against the Bobcats (1-2, 0-1 NIRA), with the latter on October 26 being counted as the official conference game.
Army went right on the attack early and forced an early PK attempt. Bayleigh Gable makes it 3-0. Staying on the aggressive, the Army offense forces another PK. Gable adds her second to make it 6-0 in the 11th minute. After a long boot down the field, Sam Sullivan raced down the field and beat everyone into the try zone to make it 11-0 for Army. After some tough defense, Army added two more scores before the half. Gio Ferguson-Lewis and Kailen Young with the tries. Gable with one conversion to make it 23-0 at the break. Charisma Henry opens the second half with a tough, long try.
Gable adds the conversion to make it 30-0. Gable makes it 3-3 on PK's to make it 33-0 in the 50th minute. Damaria Morton shows her speed by blowing past defenders down the sideline to keep the foot on the gas. 38-0 Army.
