After placing fourth on both boards at the TYR Fall Classic this past weekend, Daniel Alaimo was named the Patriot League Male Diver of the Week. "It was terrific to see Danny get off to such a nice start," head diving coach Chris Waters said. "It's very early in the year for divers to be competing and he performed very well. He has some big goals for the season, and this was a terrific way to kick things off!"
It marks the second time in Alaimo's career and the first time this season that he has earned male diver of the week honors from the league. At the TYR Fall Classic, the West Nyack, N.Y., native was up against divers from LSU, Grand Canyon, Florida Atlantic, George Washington and Pittsburgh. The yearling took fourth on the 1-meter board after compiling a score of 264.30. He later totaled 268.30 on the 3-meter and finished fourth.
Alaimo and the Black Knights will return to action on Friday when they host UMass for the 2019-20 home opener at Crandall Pool slated to start at 3 p.m.
