Women’s Handball Trains with the US Olympic Beach Handball Team
The Army West Point Women’s Handball travelled to Hermosa Beach, California to train with the United States Olympic Beach Handball Team. The weekend was a success as West Point helped the Olympic Team to train for the World Beach Games in Qatar while improving their own skills. Beach Handball is an adaptation of the Olympic sport, Team Handball, but on a much more difficult playing surface and it rewards highly skilled shots like 360-degree spins and alley-oops passes. All players on this trip have had the opportunity to previously train under the Beach Handball National Team coach, Juliano de Oliveria, and thus after a quick warmup assimilated into the National Team and got right into a full practice and multiple games.
