The Army Water Polo team brought the full 20-player roster to compete in the New York area regional tournament at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The games started out with a tough competition against New York University and Columbia University on Saturday with Army winning both games with scores of (13-8) and (15-3) respectively. Sunday morning, the Army team continued the winning streak with dominating performances against the Merchant Marine Academy (14-3) and RPI (16-2).
Finishing the weekend with a record of 4-0 in regional play, Army sits with the number one seed moving forward to the state tournament. The entire team developed in both water polo skills and team chemistry over the weekend with every single member of the team seeing a respectable amount of playing time against weaker competition in the regional qualifying tournament.
