Cadets Learn of Different German Units from WWIICPTs Beckman, Braasch, den Harder, and Malmquist cycled their classes though a material culture display that demonstrated a few of the various kinds of German units the Allies faced as they drove across Europe from Normandy to Germany. The display highlighted the differences between the uniforms and weapons of elite and common units as well as the last-ditch troops of the Volkssturm. The cadets shared their observations of the various kinds of equipment noting things like body size, similarity of certain weapons to Allied weapons, and most importantly, the disparity in quality from the elite units to the average troops and then the common folk turned soldiers.
