CPT Nathaniel Sheehan from the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering took nine Cadets from four different departments to the 79th Annual Scholarship Fund Dinner Dance sponsored by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) – New York City Post.
The event was held in the Grand Hyatt across from Grand Central Station in New York City. SAME is dedicated to STEM initiatives and awarded 211 academic scholarships to students from 76 universities from across the country. One of the Cadets attending the event, Cadet Will Anderson, was awarded a $500 scholarship for his exemplary character, academic, military and physical performance as one of the top Cadets (ranked by CQPA) in Computer Sciences.
Guest speakers for the evening included MG Jeffrey L. Milhorn, USACE North Atlantic Division Commander; Rear Admiral Nathan Moore, Assistant Commandant for Engineering and Logistics of the U.S. Coast Guard; and Rear Admiral Edward Dieser, Chief Engineer of the United States Public Health Services; and other military and civilian leaders from academia, industry, and government agencies.
