The West Point Orienteering Team hosted the 15th Annual Orienteering Skills Weekend at the Lake Frederick Reservation. This event served as an opportunity to instruct and mentor local Boy Scout Troops in basic land navigation skills. Over 200 scouts participated in the event and completed the first seven requirements for the Orienteering Merit Badge.
Additionally, advanced scouts completed all the requirements for the badge. The weekend featured a variety of land navigation courses, a revamped military skills competition and an evening bonfire. This event marked a tremendous opportunity for the Army O-Team to engage with the local community and teach kids about the military.
