USMA Officers Travel to Niamey, Niger to assist EFOFANThe United States Military Academies’ partnership with other military, government, and higher education organizations provides unique developmental opportunities for cadets and faculty.

Officers from West Point Department of Systems Engineering and West Point Department of Physical Education (DPE) traveled to Niamey, Niger to assist EFOFAN, Niger’s two-year Military Academy, in building a cadet-led and instructor supervised combatives program as a part of the academy’s Africa Military Education Program (AMEP).

The initial concept was introduced in 2017 and today due to AMEP, EFOFAN has a fully functional, level 1 combatives program where 2nd year cadets are leading 1st year cadets.
