For the third consecutive week, Tommy Funk of the Army West Point Men's Basketball team was named the Patriot League Player of the Week.
Funk becomes the first cadet in program history to earn the player of the week honor from the league three straight times. He did so after leading the Black Knights to a 2-0 week with victories over Bucknell and Lehigh.
For the week, Funk averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per contest while shooting 59 percent from the field and 62 percent from long range.
In a 68-59 home win against Bucknell on Wednesday, Funk went 7-of-15 from the field and led all Army scorers with 19 points. He added six boards, five assists and a steal to his stat line versus the Bison. The lone swipe helped give him sole possession of 11th in program history for career steals.
The Warrington, Pa., native followed that performance with a career night in a thrilling 80-79 road win at Lehigh on Saturday. Funk poured in a career-high 33 points on 10-of-14 shooting to go with seven assists and five rebounds.
