West Point Dept. of History Aquires New 3D PrinterThe West Point - The U.S. Military Academy Department of History recently acquired a 3D printer for the Cartography Cell. The main purpose for it will be producing relief maps for use in class.

Cadet Conner Sprout is the first cadet to test the application of the West Point - The U.S. Military Academy Department of History's new 3D printing capability.

Conner is studying the Battle of Plataea (479 BC) and now not only has a custom-produced map in his course-specific Atlas, but also gets to see a matching 3D print of the topography of the battlefield.
