Congratulations to the WestPoint Cadets of the 'Black Knights' Cyber Policy Team for winning 1st place at the Atlantic Council’s international Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge competition held Jan. 28-30 in Lille, France. The 9/12 Challenge is an annual cyber policy and strategy competition where students from across the globe compete in developing policy recommendations to tackle a fictional cyber catastrophe. In partnership with the French Institute for Geopolitics (IFG) and the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC), students in the Lille challenge responded to a large-scale cyber-attack on France during a major international event. Competitors had to manage tradeoffs required for responding to a cyber crisis that poses challenges to state, military, and industry actors.
West Point Cadet Cyber teams also took home 1st and 2nd place in Texas at the Atlantic Council’s 9/12 Cyber Strategy Challenge, held in partnership with the Robert Strauss Center for International Security and Law at the University of Texas at Austin on Jan. 16-17. While in Texas, the 'Black Jacks' (1st place) and the 'Black Knights' (2nd place) had to battle 19 teams in 2 days!
