Serica Hallstead, Rebecca Morel and Graham Ungrady of the Army West Point Swimming and Diving teams received Academic All-Patriot League honors yesterday.
Hallstead, who has now collected academic praise from the league for the third straight season, holds a 4.056 grade-point average as a life science major. She capped her diving career by becoming Army's first female diver of the meet at the league championships since 2011. The fourth-year diver, who was named first team all-league, won on the 1-meter and placed third on the 3-meter.
Morel, who carries a 3.815 GPA as a systems engineering major, was a Second Team All-Patriot League swimmer. She finished fifth in both the 100 breast and 200 breast at the league championships. She also scored for the Black Knights in the 200 IM after placing 14th.
Ungrady, a second team all-league performer, posted a 3.357 GPA as a systems engineering major. He finished third in the 200 free, sixth in the 100 free and 11th in the 500 free. He also was part of three second-place relay squads at the league championships.
