West Point Women’s Handball at UNCWest Point Women’s Handball competed in North Carolina at UNC. These were league games, counting towards seeding for College and Club Nationals later this Spring.

Both West Point Black and West Point Gold played incredibly well. West Point Black went 4-0 over the weekend; decisively beating Penn State Blue 26-12, DC Club Team 17-12 and UNC twice 22-11 and 23-10.

West Point Gold went 1-3 over the weekend, beating Penn State Blue and barely losing to UNC twice, the first time by just one goal.

Of note, Cadet Ostby ’23 and Cadet Jessup ’23 both played great in their first games of Handball. Ostby is a goalie and helped lead Gold to their first win of the semester, and Cadet Jessup scored her first goal against Penn State.

The wins are a great testament to the amount of work put in by both teams leading into this semester and show great potential for College Nationals later this Spring. These might just be the teams that allow Women’s Team Handball to reach their goal of placing 1st and 2nd at Nationals.
