Duong with 2-Hit Shutout in Softball's Win over RMU

Mar 09, 2020

Jolie Duong had a dominant performance on the hill in Army West Point Softball's 3-0 win over Robert Morris at the Clearwater Spring Break Invitational yesterday. The yearling from Houston, Texas, hurled a two-hit shutout and struck out eight batters, while allowing no walks. Duong allowed just two baserunners – neither of which advanced past second base.

Her eight strikeouts matched her career high, which she previously set against Monmouth on March 15, 2019. This also marked her first career complete game shutout. In addition to her success on the mound, she was the only player in the contest to record a multi-hit game.

This represented her third multi-hit game of the season. Ally Snelling drove in two runs to improve her season RBI total to 20. The Las Vegas, Nev., native is now up to 60 career runs batted in. This was Army's first shutout win of the season. Read more.
