Men's & Women's Swim & Dive Earn Academic Recognition
Following a strong showing in the classroom during the 2020 spring semester, the Army West Point Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving teams were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America list on Tuesday.
The CSCAA recognizes teams with the Scholar All-America Award for achieving a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Army was one of nine Patriot League schools to have both its men's and women's team recognized.
For the men, 18 Cadets held a GPA of 3.2 or better with William Rankin leading the way, who as a life science major compiled a 4.113 GPA. He was one of two Cadets on the team to eclipse the 4.0 mark as Nick Isenhower held a 4.017 GPA as an economics major.
Fourteen Cadets on the women's side recorded a GPA of 3.2 or higher, including five Cadets who posted a GPA of 4.0 or better. Marie Docken carried the best GPA for the Black Knights with a 4.270 as an operations research major. Serica Hallstead (4.206 – life science), Kim Caccamo (4.127 – philosophy), Rebecca Morel (4.039 – systems engineering) and Kathryn Seyer (4.017 – systems engineering) were the other four to eclipse the 4.0 mark.
