Cadets Discuss Latin Language DistinctionCadets in the Latin club discussed the different ways Romans used language to distinguish class structures. In describing the Roman family for example, their text used liberi (literally: free people) to describe Roman children born in a free status and used servi to describe the slaves bound to the Roman household. Many of the Cadets were unaware of the power of the Latin language to make such a distinction.
