Army Announces Pair of Volleyball ExhibitionsArmy West Point Volleyball head coach Alma Kovaci Lee announced Thursday that the team will compete in a pair of exhibition matches in October.

The Black Knights will play their first contest of 2020 on Saturday, October 10 when the team travels to New London, Conn., to take on Coast Guard. Army will then return home to host Merchant Marine on Saturday, October 17 at 4 p.m. at Gillis Field House. The home match will be closed to outside spectators. Athletes from each team will be subject to their academy's respective COVID-19 testing protocols ahead of competition.

“More than 200 teams in the country don't have the opportunity to play against an opponent, so the first thing that comes to mind is how grateful we are to have a chance to compete this fall,” Kovaci Lee said. “We do not take this opportunity for granted. Our team is young and hungry to compete. Everyone is excited and ready to test ourselves against Coast Guard and Merchant Marine. It should be fun!”

Stay tuned for game coverage information for both contests.
