Army Hockey head coach Brian Riley has announced the 2020-21 slate which features 26 games with 13 being played at Tate Rink.
“We are so grateful that we will have an opportunity to play games in the near future," said Riley. "I'm very proud of our guys for the self-discipline they have shown to stay safe and set us up to have a season. We are also very grateful to the leadership team here at West Point for the plan they implemented months ago to put us in a position where we could have a hockey season at Tate Rink.”
Fan attendance will not be open to the public at this time. Ticket information will be announced at a later date if conditions allow for fan attendance.
To mitigate some of the risk factors regarding COVID-19 exposure during travel, Atlantic Hockey has separated the league into eastern and western pods, with Air Force standing alone as the geographic outlier. The eastern pod is made up of AIC, Army, Bentley, Holy Cross, and Sacred Heart. The western pod consists of Canisius, Mercyhurst, Niagara, RIT, and Robert Morris.
All teams will play five games against each pod member (20 total games). Army will play Air Force for a pair of games (2) on the road totaling 22 league games. The Cadets will then play a three-game set against LIU at home, who is being worked in as a scheduling partner for the 2020-21 season.
