Army West Point fans who are looking for a fun way to stay active this Thanksgiving should look no further! Army will host its first ever Virtual 5K Turkey Trot between the dates of Sunday, November 22 through Sunday, November 29.
All virtual racers are encouraged to use treadmills at home, or go outside and practice safe social distancing while walking, jogging or running a route of your choice. All proceeds from the event will go to the Army A Club Fight On To Victory Campaign to support the over 1,000 cadet-athletes and mitigate the forecasted budget deficit due to the effects of COVID-19.
Interested runners can register at the link below, between today and Saturday, November 21st, and submit their times online to Army West Point Athletics via FitRankings. The FitRankings virtual race platform syncs with fitness apps (FitBit, Apple Watch/Health, Garmin, Suunto, and much more) to easily upload times for the 5K.
The cost to register is $47 which includes a digital running bib, t-shirt and face tattoos. Army West Point virtual runners must register by Monday, November 9 to receive their t-shirt & face tattoos in time for the run. We will continue to allow participants to register for the race until Saturday, November 21, however, t-shirts will not arrive until after the event. All participants will also be entered into a raffle to win select Army West Point prizes!
Participants are encouraged to share their 5K Turkey Trot experience through their social media platforms by using the hashtag #ArmyVirtualTurkeyTrot.
