Ryan Hetrick ’21 of Army West Point Wrestling, Jordan Blackman ’21 of Army Football and Sam McGee ’21 of Army Men's Golf have been selected as the Corps Squad Athletes of the Month for November.
Ryan Hetrick has earned a 3.64 cumulative GPA during his 3+ years at USMA as an Engineering Management major. Over the course of his six completed semesters at West Point, he has made the Dean's List in each, with a term-best of 3.74 in the Fall 2019 semester. Hetrick has maintained a rigorous course load and has excelled in his academic major curriculum. His performance across all academic sub-disciplines has been remarkable. Hetrick currently serves as the Physical Development Officer for Company I4, leading the way for others through his example of excellence and supporting the physical fitness optimization of others.
“Ryan is a team leader in every aspect. He is disciplined, driven, and selfless all at the same time. He sets the example to follow academically, athletically, and is a standout member of his company. He intends to compete for an NCAA title this year on the mat and is competing for a post-graduate scholarship academically. Jordan Blackman is a member of company H4. Blackman serves in the position of Company Respect Officer. Jordan has earned a 3.147 Cumulative GPA as an Engineering Psychology major. Blackman is a leader amongst his teammates, holding a position on the leadership council – a group of players voted on by their peers. In the 49-3 win over Mercer University, Jordan scored his first career touchdown in a third-and-goal play. Blackman's leadership and work ethic were seen in his teammates' reaction to his touchdown, carrying him off the field after the score. Blackman is a team player who brings out the best in those around him. He is a great cadet, football player, and student and is incredibly deserving of recognition.
CDT Samuel McGee entered his Firstie year maintaining a 3.293 Cumulative GPA. As a Law and Legal Studies major, he will commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in May 2021. Sam has made the Dean's List in each of his first six semesters at the Academy. He posted his highest semester GPA in the fall of 2019, when he finished the semester with a 3.541 term GPA.
