Cadet Discussion with HON Mark Esper ’86While departing class, LZ476: Persian in Military Contexts, CDT Velez ’21 remarked to his teacher, “this was definitely one of those West Point experiences you do not get often!” Last week, the Persian section in the Department of Foreign Languages hosted former Secretary of Defense, the Honorable Mark Esper ’86, for a virtual discussion on US-Iran relations. Secretary Esper fielded cadet questions concerning Iran and cadets relished the opportunity to discuss their field of study with one of our nation’s top leaders. Our academic program at West Point continually creates these “experiences you do not get often.”
