Recently, two West Point Department of Law cadet teams competed at the 2021 Clara Barton International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Competition. The competition included 16 other teams, including other service academies and law schools across the country. The event was a simulation-based, experiential legal competition designed to expose rising professionals to the practice of IHL (also known as the Law of Armed Conflict) and to real world challenges facing Law of Armed Conflict practitioners during armed conflict.
Both teams represented the Academy extremely well. One of the D/Law teams (CDTs Bowles, Fonseca, and Shapiro) qualified for the semifinal round. This is an exceptional accomplishment, and we wish them the best of luck this coming weekend!
