The Army West Point Men's and Women's Track and Field teams had a combined total of 19 event wins in their meet against Monmouth this past Saturday afternoon at Shea Stadium.
“I am really pleased with how things went today,” Army head coach Mike Smith said. “I don't want to minimize the significance of our performances because there were some outstanding marks, but the real win today was simply getting a chance to run, jump and throw in a competition. Our athletes were in their element. The weather was ideal, and our people competed with some real energy. It was a great atmosphere.”
The Army women had 12 event wins and had a trio of multi-event winners. Morgan Chewning-Kulick placed first in both the 1500m and the 800m. Abigail Green won the discus and hammer throw. Hannah Blakely won the 400m hurdles and was the first leg of the 4x400m relay. Read more.
