The Black Knights extended their winning streak to eight games as they finished off a four-game sweep of Lafayette with a 6-1 victory in game one on Sunday and a 6-5 11-inning come-from-behind victory in game two.
The Black Knights. (11-11, 7-3 Patriot League) scored at least one run in the final five frames of the seven-inning game one on Sunday afternoon. Jeremiah Adams was 2-for-3 with a triple, one RBI and one walk, while Carter Macias also had a two-hit performance.
Patrick Melampy was strong on the mound on the day, earning the win despite not going a full 5.0 innings. He scattered four hits and allowed just one run with two walks and four strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work in the seven-inning contest. Reliever Trevor Finan tossed 2.2 scoreless with three strikeouts to one walk to close out the 6-1 victory in game one.
In game two, the Black Knights trailed from the get-go, giving up two runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Black Knights got a run back in the top of the third on an Anthony Giachin single, but the Leopards answered right back with another run in the bottom of the third inning.
