Cadets in CE404 Design of Steel Structures, learn the engineering thought process through the design of steel structures. The course uses the fundamentals of statics, mechanics of materials, and structural analysis and applies them to the design of structural members, with emphasis on satisfying real-world needs. These cadets are ending the semester strong . . . just like the welds they made on E Level last week! The hands-on lab gives cadets some initial instruction in welding and an appreciation of the skill it takes to make consistent, quality welds in the field.
