Nichtern, Hudgins Named Inside Lacrosse All-Americans

Nichtern, Hudgins Named Inside Lacrosse All-AmericansCow Brendan Nichtern and Marcus Hudgins continued to add to their postseason accolades as both were named All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse on May 16. The honors were voted on by members of the Inside Lacrosse media and they were announced during halftime of the last game of the NCAA Tournament First Round.

Voters were asked to select three first-team, three second-team, three third-team and three honorable mention attackmen, midfielders and defensemen, then one first-team, second-team, third-team and honorable mention face-off specialists, short-stick defensive midfielders, long-stick middies and goalies. The teams were selected based on the cumulative total of points received (four for first-team, three for second-team, two for third-team and one for honorable mention).

Nichtern, the 2021 Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year, finished with a team-high 57 points on 23 goals and 28 assists in 11 games started. He currently sits sixth in the nation in points per game after recording 5.18 points per contest for the Black Knights. He is also sixth in assists per game at 2.82 this season. He tallied five or more points in nine of the 11 games and tied a career high with eight points on three goals and five assists against Colgate in the regular-season finale. Read more.
