Cadets Explore Ethics of Emerging Technologies
Four cadets spent two weeks exploring the nature of ethics and the ethics of emerging technologies in DEP's “Ethics of Emerging Technology” Advanced Individual Academic Development (AIAD). The cadets engaged entrepreneurs on the cutting edge of innovative efforts and with scholars examining such efforts with an eye toward their social, legal, and political implications. They began this research in the vicinity of West Point, then spent a week with the faculty of the U.S. Naval War College. This is how USMA, the West Point Association of Graduates and external organizations enrich cadet education and to develop greater expertise in dealing with the ethical complexities of the future operating environment.
