CDT CSM Erickson ’22 Explains CLDT
Cadet Command Sergeant Major Layne Erickson, Class of 2022, explains Cadet Leader Development Training this summer. CLDT trains, mentors, and assesses basic leadership skills focusing on troop leading procedures, effective communication, and tactical decision making to develop competent and confident small unit leaders capable of operating in an uncertain and rapidly changing environment. In a series of tactical scenarios that reflect the decisive action training environment, cadets experience a minimum of two assessed leadership positions that provide the cadet with a common experience to further enhance his/her leadership ability to solve difficult tactical problems.
