Q&A with Football’s Marquel Broughton
Q: Why did you decide to attend West Point?
MB: I wanted to better my life, better my family’s trajectory and serve my country.
Q: Aside from football, what’s been your favorite part of West Point?
MB: The people. I’ve had great mentors here, like Col. Bates and Col. Woodruff. A lot of people are on my side and I think some of the best people in the world are here at West Point.
Q: What does it mean to you to be named captain of this team?
MB: It means everything. It’s a blessing. I’m just thankful that my teammates saw me as someone that can lead this team. I’m going to continue to give my all to them and encourage them to do the same.
Q: What was it like to be a part of the team that beat both Navy and Air Force at Michie Stadium?
MB: Great experience. I’ve never won anything so that was big. Winning the CIC Championship while defending Michie Stadium is one of the best experiences in my life. Hands-down one of the best feelings I’ve ever had. Read more.
