Hockey Opens 2021 Receiving Votes in USCHO Poll
With the 2021-22 college hockey season set to start this Saturday, the Army West Point hockey team finds themselves receiving votes in the first USCHO national poll. Army finished the 2020-21 season as the last squad off the 20-team poll after a 15-6-1 overall record and the best conference record under head coach, Brian Riley.
Coach Riley has put together a challenging nonconference slate for his squad, as the Black Knights are set to take on two top-15 teams in three of their first five games. Army will face off with No. 12 Providence in its season opener (October 2) before making the trek to the Midwest for a two-game set with the No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers on October (14-15).
The challenges do not stop there, as Army follows up the Wisconsin tilts with a home-and-home series against the No. 20 AIC Yellow Jackets (October 21-22).
The first puck drop of the season is slated to happen this Saturday when the Black Knights and Friars face off at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. at 4pm. Read more.
