LaRose Joins Army Baseball Staff
Army West Point head baseball coach Jim Foster recently announced the addition of John LaRose to his staff.
In preparation for the 2022 season, during which the team will look to capture its fourth-straight Patriot League Championship, Foster has named LaRose an assistant coach.
“John LaRose is a great addition to our staff,” Foster said. “He is an accomplished baseball coach and will be a tremendous mentor to our players on and off the field. He will work with the infielders, assist with the offense and handle many other areas having to do with the day-to-day operations of our program. Having him on our staff is a big step in the right direction towards where we want to take this program as we continue to build our player personnel and everything else.”
LaRose makes the move to West Point following an extremely successful stint at Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. After a 19-year run as the head coach of JWU Baseball, LaRose was elevated to Associate Athletics Director and had oversight of the department's compliance, academics and staff with additional sport administration responsibilities.
In his time coaching the Wildcats' program, LaRose racked up a career mark of 429-341-6. He led the team to eight-straight 20-win seasons and achieved the feat in 14 of his last 15 overall campaigns. Under his direction, JWU won a pair of GNAC regular season titles and advanced to the 2017 GNAC Championship. Read more.
