Cadets Test Aircraft Performance and Static Stability
Published on December 15, 2021
Cadets enrolled in ME481, Aircraft Performance and Static Stability, culminated the semester testing balsa wood gliders that they designed and built. The event reinforced topics discussed in the classroom, namely static stability, and the phases of aircraft design. The balsa wood glider needed to be designed to fly a minimum distance of 90 feet while maintaining a center track along the flight distance.
