Chemistry & History Scholars Unique CollaborationOur Chemistry and History scholars came together in a unique collaboration to analyze medieval gunpowder formulation to aid historians in the interpretation of medieval texts and to better understand the manufacturing of gunpowder in the early years. As 2LT Seales notes, “This project was easily the most rewarding academic opportunity I have ever had, which in reality was a series of unique opportunities brought about by the entire team. I appreciated the interdisciplinary approach, which included working closely with the chemistry team and their labs, who executed the critical experiments.” Read their full study.
