Patriot League Awards CDT Berg ’24 with Player of the Week Nod

Army Baseball’s second baseman CDT Derek Berg ’24 was named Patriot League Player of the Week. The award is the first of the yearling’s career and the fourth this year for the Black Knights, as Cadets Kevin Dubrule ’23, Ross Friedrick ’23 and Sam Ruta ’24 have all been tabbed. Berg is coming off a six-game stretch that saw him bat .400 with two doubles, one triple and a team-best nine RBI’s. He helped the Black Knights go 5-1 while closing out the regular season with an 18-7 record in Patriot League play, marking the team’s most conference wins since 2018. Read more.

Four from Softball Earn All-Patriot League Honors

Four members of Army West Point Softball claimed a spot on the 2022 Softball All-Patriot League Teams. Cadets Maddie Wilkes ’23 and Kayla Edwards ’24 headlined with first team honors, while cadets Jolie Duong ’22 and Leila Hurst ’23 earned a spot on second team. Wilkes earned the catcher position on the All-League First team after a strong junior campaign. Read more.
